Porziņģis scores 11 points to end the NBA season 1

Latvian Kristaps Porziņģis scored 11 points in the decisive National Basketball Association (NBA) play-in game on Friday as the Golden State Warriors lost and ended their season.

“The Warriors lost 94:111 (15:33, 30:17, 24:28, 25:33) on the road to the Phoenix Suns, who will play the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference quarter-finals.

Porziņš was questionable the day before the game and only played the first three quarters on Friday.

In 14 minutes and 45 seconds, the Latvian made one of two two-point shots, two of three long-range shots and three of four free throws. He also grabbed one rebound, made three fouls and committed one foul.

“The Warriors scored 22 more points than Porzingis, the worst on the team.

“For the Warriors, Brendin Podziemski scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Stephen Curry had 17 points and De'Anthony Melton had 16 points and eight rebounds.

Jalen Green had 36 points, Devin Booker had 20 points, six rebounds and eight assists for Phoenix, while Jordan Goodwin scored 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds and six steals.

In the first play-in game, Golden State defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 126-121 on the road, coming back from a 13-point deficit in the final quarter. Porzingis had 20 points, five rebounds and five assists.

“The Warriors finished the regular season in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 37-45 record, while the Suns finished the regular season in seventh place in the conference with 45 wins in 82 games.
